The role of VET in reducing early leaving from education and training
The aim of the framework contract is to understand the phenomenon of dropout and early leaving from VET in Europe and to analyse the role of VET in reducing early leaving from education and training. To this end, the contract includes 3 work assignments, namely:
1) understanding the phenomenon of dropping out and early leaving from VET and investigating the relationship between VET and early leaving from education and training;
2) analysing policies and measures to tackle early leaving from education and training through VET;
3) identifying good practices and tools to support policy-making at national and EU levels.
The findings of this project aim to support the European Commission, Member States, social partners and other stakeholders in their effort to implement EU policies to reduce early school leaving and to achieve the EU target by 2020.
